Drop Into JD Sports for the adidas Drop Step
Release: 1 December 2022

Colourway: JD Sports Exclusive

Despite having one of the most extensive archives around, adidas aren’t content with just rehashing their classics. Introducing the Drop Step, an all-new basketball-flavoured design that looks like it was just unsealed from a 1980s time capsule. The best place to get the lowdown on these originals is JD Sports, who have exclusive access to this big batch of colourways.

The Drop Step is something of an adidas anachronism. Its details transcend decades – it could slot in anywhere between the nascent years to right now in 2022. Elements like the underlaid stripe accents and pinked window edging nod to traditional adi design, while chunky rubber soles maintain retro flair without verging on pastiche. The silhouette is decidedly contemporary, as the proportions are appropriately oversized yet still achieve a sharp stance. Just check that toe box!

Different materials and colours also work quite readily on the Drop Step, as demonstrated by these JD exclusives. Black suede and baby blue have skate shoe leanings, while tonal grey celebrates modern minimalism. Moreover, the white, navy and yellow pair ups the pizzazz with its perforated ankle collar. These three pairs are completed by golden stamped trefoil tongue logos and model names on the lateral panel. Classic. This trio is joined by pint-sized pairs to make it a family affair, presented in simple two-tone iterations. There’s also a high-top grey version that goes full baller.

One last time – JD Sports is the only place to get these editions of the adidas Drop Step. So hit their web store right now to scoop the lot!
