Jordan Brand are synonymous with Grails and hyped releases thanks to a bunch of legendary colourways that have gone on to command global cult followings. One of these is, of course, the ‘Chicago’ colourway that famously features a palette of white, red and black. Right up there is also the ‘UNC’ makeup – aka ‘University Blue’ – which is a nod to the University of North Carolina.
The instantly recognisable colour palette goes deeper than aesthetics, with Michael Jordan himself playing three seasons for the college’s Tar Heels basketball team. So far, Jordan Brand have donned a number of their silhouettes in the colourway, including the Air Jordan 1 and the Air Jordan 6. Up next: the Air Jordan 5. The uppers utilise premium-construction suede panels in the titular ‘Carolina’ blue. Further details can be found on the metallic-silver tongue tabs and midsoles dressed in white with speckled hits of icy blue. Striking black Jumpman branding appears on the front of the tongue, while the back of each reads ‘heart’ and ‘soul’.
