atmos Open atmosmart Pop-Up in Tokyo
Japanese sneaker stalwarts atmos are celebrating Nike’s recent ‘Swoosh Mart’ pack in the most delicious fashion, opening the doors to atmosmart in Shibuya.
Decked out like Japan’s famous konbini – convenience stores – the pop-up is serving up tasty treats to Tokyo’s sneaker scene for a limited time only. The must-have menu item, of course, is the four-strong Air Max collection inspired by the various treats one finds in a konbini. Two Air Max 90s take cues from fried chicken and onigiri, while an Air Max 97 and Air Max 95 nod to energy jelly shots and the stores’ racks of print products respectively.
Just as Lawson and Family Mart have their own signature comestibles, so too does atmosmart, where attendees will find exclusive posters and zines, as well as instant-ramen Nike merch.
Unlike a normal konbini, you can’t just roll in at will, drawn like a moth to flame by the beaming fluorescent lights and katsu sandos – locals will need to reserve their place online. Everyone else will have to settle for snacking on the gallery above.
