Edison Chen’s CLOT imprint have been mighty active with Nike and the Jordan brand of late. The Jordan Delta 2, Air Jordan 5 and Nike Dunk High have all been on the menu for the Hong Kong-based label, and the hot streak shows no signs of slowing down in 2023.
We now have our first look at a yellow and black, Bruce Lee-esque version of the CLOT x Nike ‘Clotez’, the 3-in-1 design initially released in its inaugural black and white colourway earlier this month. Revealed via social media, the colourway ostensibly takes its palette from the iconic, one-piece jumpsuit worn by Lee in the film, Game of Death.
Inspired by the ancient Yin-Yang philosophy, the debut Clotez silhouette was designed with the help of local Hong Kong artist Harry Wong, who conceived the Air Max design, ‘Kung Fu Soul’ – a project submitted for the Nike On Air contest in 2018. Exploring the idea of the tai chi diagram (also known as the Yin-Yang symbol’), the ‘Clotez’ can be worn as is or taken apart, converting into two totally separate shoes – including a sneaker and a slip-on.
Three colourways of the ‘Clotez’ are confirmed to release this year, so we’re still waiting on a third iteration to be revealed. No official release details of the yellow and black Cortez have been announced yet, but keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
In the meantime, check out the most outrageous sneaker collaborations ever!
