On-Foot with the Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Orange Lobster’

Concepts’ ‘Lobster’ series has seen multiple incarnations over the years, and the rumour grapevine is ablaze with the prospect of a new Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration joining the roll. Expected to arrive at some point in the near future is the ‘Orange Lobster’, which is the latest variant of the decorated Dunk.

Here’s @yankeekicks with an on-foot look at the still unannounced collaboration. The formula has remained pretty much unchanged since the original ‘Lobster’ from 2008, bar the colour swap. This orange variant is bright, and it’s tied together with a stark black contrasting midsole. The uppers still have a little bit of the telltale speckling found on lobsters, while the gingham lining is something of a macabre nod to the common fate of any sea critters lodged in the underwater traps. Elsewhere, crisp white appears on the laces and mesh tongue for more contrast, and the Swoosh is trimmed with more white leather. The finishing touch – and one that’s been present on the ‘Lobster’ since the beginning – is the optional rubber band around the toe box, in reference to the bands holding the claws down of the real shellfish.
