Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Heavy” DN1803-900

Boston-based Concepts and NIKE, Inc. are no strangers to each other. Over the past two decades, the two parties have created some of the most famous storytelling propositions in the sportswear scene. The New England institution, however, is taking a break from its Nike SB and Nike Basketball efforts and switching to the Nike Air Max 1, helping celebrate its 35th anniversary by dressing it in an outfit inspired by the basketball scene. 1960s music festivals.

Part of a larger collection of footwear, apparel, and accessories titled “Message to the Universe,” Concepts’ upcoming set features several camouflage and styling patterns on the sneaker. The military-style print on the mudguard lends a “Camo” moniker to the latest Air Max from Boston-based boutique creative director Deon Point and team, though that’s far from it. the only flair found on the iconic silhouette. Acid-wash denim covers the toe box and most panels along the midfoot, while faux fur, paisley print and serape detailing liven up everything from the vamp to the spine. . The soles don’t opt for the boldest hues, instead indulging in shades of brown with red flecks across the midsole.

The clash of colors, graphics, and materials in Concepts’ Air Max 1 nods to the unapologetic self-expression and youthful energy displayed by many festival-goers in the mid-20th century. (The shoes even come with a co-branded guitar pick tag.) Finally, the custom shoebox features many of the colors and patterns found on the game-changing air-cushioned model.

Enjoy official images of the upcoming camo-covered pair and anticipate a launch on or around March 19th. A Nike SNKRS launch has yet to be confirmed by the brand.

Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, a handful of Jordan 2022 release dates are scheduled for the rest of March.
