Update June 16, 2022: Official images have been released of the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid in white. While its rumoured June 23 launch is yet to be confirmed by either party, the presence of these pics along with those of the black pair means a drop is imminent.
Off-White and Nike's unique take on the Air Force 1 Mid first leaked at the tail end of September 2021, just two months before Virgil Abloh's tragic passing. There was never any confirmation from Abloh's camp about whether, or not they'd actually release, but images of both white and black pairs have been making the rounds in recent months, and now news of a May drop is beginning to surface as well – though it has yet to be confirmed.
The white pair that's (supposedly) set to release is shown here in pictures from @prvt.selection and is one of Off-White's most avant-garde Air Force 1 interpretations yet. While past Off-White Air Force 1s have maintained a traditional leather construction and spotlighted details like text hits and alternate Swooshes, the mid-cut Air Force 1 is reimagined from the ground up.
Starting at the very bottom, it features a hybrid spiked midsole that looks like it was pulled from the 2019 'Athlete in Progress' collection's Off-White x Nike Terra Kiger 5. The midsole is intentionally warped towards the heel, and even boasts a visible Air unit. Uppers are made of minimalistic textiles, with thick seams, patterned detailing and clear Swooshes, while a stripped-back second set of laces and a reflective, grid-patterned collar strap add more factory floor flair to the look. As a whole, the shoe looks like a collage of cutting floor materials and experimental fabrics!
Sneaker leak accounts have been reporting that the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid will release May 23. Neither Off-White or Nike have commented on this rumour, but it's worth noting that May 23 is a Monday, which is not a day of the week that shoes usually drop on! Keep it locked here for more info as it's made available.
