The adidas Forum Gets An Autumnal atmos ‘Wheat’ RemakeRelease: 30 October 2021 Colourway: Wheat
Colourway: Wheat
Japan’s atmos have linked up with adidas for a fall-friendly take on the recently revived Forum. The ex-basketball flagship model is now more of an elevated street classic, which atmos emphasise by choosing a collaborative colourway that nods to a famous workwear staple turned pavement pounder.
With a long history of well-thought out colabs, it’s no surprise to see atmos have chosen a more historically accurate edition of the Forum for this new effort – officially known as the Forum 84 Low – that is closer to the 1984 OG than ever before. This reverence for product is demonstrated by the super supple wheat-coloured nubuck used across the entirety of the upper, save for the Three Stripe branding, which opts for a nappier variety of suede.
Meanwhile, the workwear aesthetic is maintained with practical hardware including metal eyelets cinched up using taslan rope laces. The Forum does incorporate some functional features of its own too, namely the distinctive ankle strap. Furthermore, its high-tech (at least for its era) outsole has been rendered here in gum rubber, which not only looks back to the entire concept’s inspiration, but also is useful as a non-marking sole.
Raffle entries for the atmos x adidas Forum are open now until October 29. Winners will be notified on October 30 to coincide with the official release date.
