The Nike CO.JP Archives Supported by atmos is a Sneaker Nerd’s Wonderland

For decades, Japan has been a sneaker mecca, with countless releases exclusive to the Far East island nation. Responsible for dozens, if not hundreds, of these Japan-only projects is atmos, whose ongoing collaborations and exclusive colourways with Nike continue forming a significant portion of the Swoosh’s CO.JP program. To help celebrate that relationship, today saw the launch of the Nike CO.JP Archives Supported by atmos, which compiles over 20 years of the Swoosh’s greatest exploits from Japan.

Nike’s CO.JP releases – especially those from the early 2000s – remain fertile conversation starters for sneaker nerds, as specific colourways and releases aren’t always catalogued, and evidence of their existence is often only available through online chatter and obscure websites. While some releases will be common sights among the informed sneaker community – such as Dunks, Air Maxes, and atmos collaborations – many other obscurities will likely be seen for the first time by many archive visitors.

And it won’t be hard to spot the entrance to the Nike CO.JP Archives, as it’s modelled on the early-2000s Nike shoebox. The Archives can be visited from August 19 to August 25 at 150-0001 3-16-9 Sendagaya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Admission is between 11AM and 7PM over the course of the activation.
