What the Sneaker Freaker Community Thinks About Travis Scott Collaborations
Following the 2021 Astroworld tragedy, the sneakersphere was left wondering if Travis Scott would ever return to his collaborations game.
While his Air Max 1 collaboration was postponed – the two pairs then known as the ‘Baroque Brown’ and ‘Saturn Gold’ – the artist inevitably returned to the industry. Before his sneaker game was fully kicked back into gear, Scott’s PR team unveiled Project HEAL, a ‘multi-tier initiative dedicated to addressing challenges facing today’s youth, especially those from marginalized and at-risk communities.’
Fast forward to 2022, and 2.4 million people entered the first drop for the Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Reverse Mocha’ in July. And many are already anticipating the release of the potential upcoming women’s exclusive. Back in 2020, it was reported in Scott’s cover story interview with Forbes that the artist earns $10 million annually from his Nike partnership. Financial details since then have remained scarce, but the hype continues.
With so many mixed responses, we asked the SF community on Instagram: are you a fan of Travis Scott’s Nike collaborations?
