Where to buy the Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 Recess collection? Price, release date and more explored

Social Status label, under James Whitner’s band The Whitaker, is collaborating with sportswear giant Nike for a two-piece Air Max Penny 1 collection, dubbed Recess. The collection is launched to highlight the importance of experiences within communities during school life.

The Nike Air Max Penny 1 Collection will be available via in-store raffle, July 2-7. One can visit their local Social Status store, which can be pre-booked through their official e-commerce site. The General Online Sweepstakes will begin online at the official Social Status e-commerce site on July 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. EST and will run until July 7, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

All raffle winners will be notified on July 14, 2022. The pair will additionally be officially launched on the official Social Status e-commerce site on July 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM EST for a retail price of $190.

Social Status took to Instagram to officially announce their collaboration with Nike on June 29, 2022, revealing the Recess collection, which will consist of two colorways, namely, Desert Sand and Black. The label’s Recess collection continues the Free Lunch initiative, which began in 2021. The caption to the post read,

“‘See you at recess…'”

After the first images, the label finally revealed the release information of the shoes and all their prints on June 2, 2022. They explained that the collection can be used in four different ways.

To accompany the collaborative offers, the sneaker shop and streetwear label also produced a campaign video in the form of a short film, which the Turner Brothers directed. The shoe assembly is accompanied by school-inspired background shots, while the six-minute short showcases coming-of-age experiences.

The video features young children embarking on a journey of life as they spend their formative periods in an underserved community. The video further takes viewers through the experiences of young people as they spend time outside the classroom and explore friendships and their relationships.

The collaborative duo have prepared two striking colorways of the Nike Air Max Penny 1. Each pair is crafted from premium materials as leather and suede blends form the upper. The most important part of the shoes is the addition of customizable/interchangeable/exchangeable swooshes, which represent the time of lunch break, where children play different sports and games.

Beneath the removable swooshes, patches reveal the classic swoosh logo, featuring an electrifying line pattern of the original Air Max Penny 1. The heel area of ​​the shoes is given a flair with the addition of co-branded logos, signifying the labels latest Recess project.

The shoes can be used in three raffles, taking entries from July 2, 2022 through July 7, 2022.

The Nike Air Max Penny 1 Collection can also be redeemed directly online on July 15, 2022, at the official Social Status e-commerce site for a retail price of $190. Release via SNKRS is yet to be confirmed. The entire collection will be available in men’s and women’s sizes, which will range from UK 3.5 to UK 15 and UK 5 to UK 16.5, respectively.
