Editor’s notes: Cactus Plant Flea Market returns to the world of Nike; and once again proved that no one matches his statement-making abilities when it comes to sneaker design. A bold statement, sure, but after reviewing its last two Swoosh-backed drops, it’s one I’m willing to back.

Armed with a DIY, unconventional and utterly crazy approach to sneaker design, Cactus Plant Flea Market has delivered a curated selection of Nike’s craziest styles of all time.

First in line was the 2019 VaporMax, which rocked the silhouette with rope lacing, stitched detailing, a neon sign-like 3D Swoosh, and a bold smiley face graphic to the heel. His two-part Dunk Low selection was, in the grand scheme of things, pretty tame, paving the way for the head-spinning Flea 1.

The mud-covered, grass-like CPFM Flea 1 was a precursor to things to come with the “Overgrown” or “Grinch” Dunk Low.

Although there is some confusion as to which moniker will be the official name on release day, this might be the craziest sneaker ever to hit the market.

Once again, a mud-covered sole has been chosen, but it’s mostly hidden thanks to the overgrown shaggy piles of green faux fur that cover the sneaker’s upper. Among the thick hair you will find a hidden yin-yan logo and a green lining – I’m sure there are laces somewhere too.

Clearly, the CPFM is allowed to do whatever they want when a Nike silhouette is placed in front of them, which leaves us wondering what could possibly happen next.
