Nike Air Max 1 Master “Magma Orange” DZ4709-001
The Nike Air Max 1 has been in the spotlight for the past nine months as it celebrates its 35th anniversary. In addition to limited collaborations, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design has taken a big step forward with pairs like the new Surface Master “Magna Orange”.
First seen in 2017 during the sneaker’s 30th anniversary, the Master iteration of the model ups the ante in terms of quality and storytelling. The newly redone take opts for a rather straightforward “Magma Orange,” “Neutral Gray,” and “Light Bone” arrangement, but retains the disparate patterns and textures across its mudguards and profile swooshes.
Five years ago, the Air Max 1 Master delivered a “What The” Dunk-like proposition, as the aforementioned components consisted of fragmented panels referencing a handful of significant releases from the shoe’s design catalog. Various animal prints and contrasting colors have come together on the original Air Max sneaker to commemorate 30 years to this point. With the return of the premium version in a vibrant splash of citrus, it’s possible the Swoosh is readying a Master Collection with inaugural color blocking. The yellowed midsole underfoot injects a touch of “age” into the kicks, while propelling the AM1 into its next 35 years.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead and expect a Nike SNKRS release soon.
