Nike and Patta have joined forces yet again and just like their latest sneaker project, the duo are giving the hugely popular Air Max 1 a fresh new look.
After delivering four iterations of the Air Max 1 in 2021, the Amsterdam-based apparel brand and sportswear giant’s ongoing “The Wave” sneaker series continues with a new “Dark Russet/Metallic Silver” colorway. “Arriving before the end of the week.
According to Patta, “The Wave” series of Nike Air Max 1 collaboratives are “inspired by the African proverb ‘Each One Teach One’ and Patta’s relentless vision to create a connected and thriving Patta community across the globe.”
This latest take on the classic Nike running shoe features a metallic silver mesh upper paired with premium brown overlay panels, including a wave-inspired mudguard. A burgundy insole, teal eyelets and co-branded tongue tabs add to the look. Completing the look is a White Air Max cushioned midsole and Dark Brown rubber outsole.
Coinciding with the project, Patta is hosting a two-day mentoring exchange program this month at Nike’s SHAPA Soweto Community Center in Johannesburg, South Africa.
“SHAPA serves as a safe space for the next generation of athletes and leaders. Bringing an exchange through the Patta Academy, we are excited to collaborate and connect with some of the brightest kids on the African continent through SHAPA,” said Gee Schmidt, co-founder of Patta.
The latest Patta x Nike Air Max 1 collab will be released this Friday at Nike.Patta.Nl and Patta stores for 170 euros.
