Nike wants to keep pushing their selection for the Nike Air Max 95 “Anatomy of Air” segment. The American sportswear giant has launched a few colorways with a design aesthetic guided by the folds of muscle, nerve, and bone. The newly updated slice of this range now seems to focus on the human spine.
The next rendition of Nike Air Max “Anatomy” is set to shake up the sneaker market in the weeks to come. Keep an eye out for future releases of these puff sneakers that will ship through Nike’s e-commerce website as well as other partner retailers. They will be available for $180 after launch.
Nike Air Max 95 Anatomy covered in human spine tones and flaky overlays
In recent weeks, we’ve discovered more colorways of the Nike Air Max 95’s “Anatomy of Air” edition. special edition. While Red came dressed in muscle-inspired overlays, the Light Bone colorway sported flaky, skeleton-inspired uppers. Expanding its “Anatomy of Air” shoe collection, Nike will now embrace a new model that focuses on the human spine.
The Nike Air Max 95 story on the brand’s official website reads as follows:
“Remember the revolution. 1987 saw the birth of the Air Max lineage, showcasing visible Air for the first time. What started as a cushioning experiment quickly became an icon on the trail and on the street. Over the years it has been redesigned and revamped, but the legacy still remains.
The next iteration of the popular silhouette features color combinations of Brown Basalt, University Red and Oxen Brown. The sturdy aesthetic uppers are dressed in premium knitted textiles combined with high quality suede elements. Meshes are also used for the tabs here. Overall, chunky sneakers seem suitable for outdoor activities and adventures.
First, the toe areas are alternately covered with knitted textiles and suede overlays. The former adopts khaki tones, while the latter sports dark brown earthy tones. Next to the mouthpiece is the tongue section, which is done in earthy beige tones and burgundy red hues.
The eyelet is fashioned in a burgundy red color that pairs perfectly with beige lace ties. The mesh tongue flap sporting a similar color scheme to the laces sits below. This tongue is then adorned with the usual Air Max branding tag.
Similar knit touches are also used for the collar areas. The collar, which dresses in earthy beige tones on the outer area, is done with neutral skin-like tones on the inside. The padded collar and insole are made in neutral tones. The insole is complete with red Nike Air Max swoosh branded insoles.
The mid-flaky areas of these sneakers are adorned with similar tiny red swooshes. Adhering to the “Anatomy” theme, the heel counter features the anatomy of the lumbar spine. It runs vertically the full length of the heel, with small Nike Air branding positioned just above the spine embellishment.
Wrapping the shoe, dark brown sole units are incorporated with the acclaimed Air units. The sole is equipped with a glazed window to the heel counter and the anatomy of the human spine at the base.
