Evolve Skate Store
Having set up shop in 1999, Evolve is one of Melbourne’s longest-running independent skate stores. Located in one of Melbourne’s most prominent shopping and eating districts – Chapel Street, Prahran – the store was inspired by the evolution of skateboarding in the early- and mid-90s. You’ll find their selection – which extends from apparel to footwear to skateboard decks and stickers – is carefully curated to offer a unique range of sought-after products and releases.

Fast Times Skateboarding
Currently boasting a total of nine locations across Melbourne alone, Fast Times Skateboarding has been the hub for skateboarders across the city and beyond for years.
Aside from one of the country’s best skateboarding decks and hardware selections, their Swanston Street store is decked out with a massive skateboarding footwear range. Choose from staples like Vans, DC, adidas Skateboarding, and more. And if luck’s on your side, you might even be able to get your hands on a limited Nike SB drop.

Finesse
Located just a short tram trip outside the CBD, Finesse (FKA Sole Finess) holds the title of Australia’s only women’s-dedicated sneaker boutique. Stocked with smaller sizes in the hottest drops, plus classic rotation essentials, ladies (and smaller-footed sneakerheads) need to make this minimal marvel a pit stop on their itinerary.
The team behind Finesse also use the store as a collaborative platform, showcasing artists, illustrators, designers, photographers and innovators on the regular.
Location: 47 Derby St, Collingwood
Kickz101
One of Melbourne’s oldest and most respected sneaker spots, Kickz101 was probably where many local OGs copped their first pair of Jays.
They deal in all things performance basketball, so it’s packed to the brim with official NBA paraphernalia and the latest court-ready ballers from Nike, Jordan Brand and adidas. For now, you’ll have to shop their range online as they’re in the process of moving location.

KICKSTW
If grail hunting is what you’re in town for, KICKSTW could very well be your one-stop shop. Secret Sneaker Store
If you’re looking to splash some cash on limited edition Air Jordans, sought-after Yeezys or Supreme – look no further.

Subtype
With several stores around Australia, Sydney staple Subtype opened their first Melbourne store a number of years ago. Located in an underground bunker in the heart of the CBD, the store is a ‘concrete solution to a curated gallery’ that aims to elevate the status quo of retail transactions.
Stocking brands like Ader Error, Drôle de Monsieur and PAM, plus the usual big-brand staples, you’re bound to find a worthy cop no matter your type.
Location: 118 Russell Street, CBD
Supply Store
Melburnians aren’t jealous of Sydneysiders very often, but the lack of a Supply Store was certainly a talking point for some time. Thankfully, the revered Sydney establishment opened a brick-and-mortar spot in the CBD, giving locals another killer location to acquire the latest high-end streetwear and limited edition sneakers.
Lovers of Japanese labels like UNDERCOVER and Visvim need look no further, while all your hyped sneaker releases can also be acquired (raffle entry pending, of course).
Location: 29A Sutherland Street, CBD
Sure Store
If you’re unsure where to shop in the CBD, pay a visit to Sure Store! As one of Melbourne’s handful of OG spots, they’ve been holding it down for the city when it comes to skate and streetwear for years. Sure, you can shop their range of clothing from ICHPIG to Carrots and their footwear from Vans to the Swoosh, and they’ve also recently opened up their fresh new shopfront!
