With the help of Teddy Santis and his Aimé Leon Dore brand, New Balance have recently resurrected the Rainier, their sturdy 1980s hiker! Following a swathe of collaborative releases alongside ALD, where the sneaker-slash-boot debuted in multiple colourways, NB is about to revive the OG colourway in-house.

The New Balance Rainier was initially built in the 1980s as a lightweight climbing boot that referenced the era’s heavy hiking footwear. It sat in the archives for a number of years until 2016, when it experienced a slight resurgence. The OG comes correct in synthetic ‘Dark Denim’ underlays, bolstered with plush ‘Glazed Ginger’ overlays.
